Where do we need help?

We're looking for a Content Writer to join our dynamic team as it continues to grow. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic personality to join a growing, ambitious startup. We are looking for someone who is passionate about developing a consistent tone of voice across all ecommerce platforms and social media channels. This person should love crafting written content so the reader understands exactly what our products do, what is going on with the brand and what our community is about. This content will be the first message our community and customers interact with so it needs to be clear, concise and most importantly leave them with a positive feeling and the energy to go out and Make Life Richer.

What does the job entail?

  • Work with the Content Manager and the marketing team to ensure consistency between visual and written content
  • Be the owner of the blog content which communicates all news and updates on the brand, product launches and stories from our community.
  • Understand the importance of SEO, the details required around meta descriptions and the attention to detail needed around content creation
  • Craft and own copy content through multiple rounds of edits for all eCommerce needs (homepages, product descriptions, special landing pages, product emails etc)
  • Work with product and marketing team to ensure all new additions/launches are using a consistent brand tone of voice
  • Write about our collaborators and community, develop interviews and interesting stories which further add to quality content on site
  • Produce and self-edit copy for internal assets. Be obsessive about content quality, grammar and spelling and submit work in a timely manner for editing and approval.
  • Research industry + cultural trends and topics and present content ideas 
  • Be a storyteller. 
  • Update website copy as needed.

What kind of person are we looking for?

  • Minimum 2 years experience in writing content, preferably with an ecommerce business or in a relevant team 
  • Ability to write clear, concise and fun content with a particular focus on our blog and communicating a clear message around a brand story/news
  • Excellent writing + editing skills in English and a thorough understanding of English grammar, SEO and our brand guidelines
  • Can juggle a number of projects and content requests at the same time, shift priorities quickly, and maintain a high standard and positive attitude even when under pressure to hit deadlines
  • A strong attention to detail is crucial for this role 
  • Creative thinker and self-starter and excited to contribute new ideas
  • BS/MS degree in marketing or a related field
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing 
  • Someone who is willing to generally help out, this is a startup so from time to time everyone just needs to muck in
