Rhys McClenaghan

We couldn’t be more excited about Olympian Rhys McClenaghan’s arrival to the Make Life Richer Collective.

Rhys is an Irish artistic gymnast competing internationally for both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. In 2019, he became the first Irish gymnast to qualify to a world championships final and to also win a medal, taking bronze on pommel horse. In addition to his world medal, McClenaghan is the first Irish gymnast to compete in a European final and also the first to win a European medal. He reached the Olympic final for the pommel horse in 2021, and in March 2022 he claimed his latest medal, winning silver at the 2022 Artistic Gymnastics World Cup finals in Doha.

A native of County Down, Rhys documents his adventures on his Youtube Channel, where he regularly vlogs about his life as a professional gymnast. He is a keen advocate for the importance of mental health in sports, and actively supports Action Mental Health in their work promoting mental health and well-being for people in Northern Ireland.

Rhys’ commitment and hard work has taken him from his back garden in Bangor to an Olympic final, and his passion for his sport has carried him through injuries and setbacks, to the triumphs and landmark moments that have made him an icon in Irish gymnastics. He embodies everything that the Make Life Richer collective stands for, and we’re incredibly proud to welcome him, and to support him as his incredible journey continues!
