Meet our first-ever Make Life Richer Ambassador, Aisling McCarthy!
Aisling is a force to be reckoned with. A veteran Ladies’ Footballer with Co. Tipperary, she’s been playing Gaelic football since the ripe old age of 7. Now, at only 24 years old. She’s a qualified physiotherapist and is heading into her 3rd season as an Australian Football League Women’s Player.
She first got involved in the AFLW in 2018 through the CrossCoders program where international female athletes are given the opportunity to play AFL at a professional level in Australia. That's where the ball really got rolling and after spending a week at a CrossCoders camp in September in Melbourne, she was drafted to the Western Bulldogs that same October.
"I would definitely expect West Coast to be better this year. I think Aish Mc makes a big difference to their midfield, adds a final piece they were looking for around the ball.”
Ais now returns for a third season, this time playing with West Coast Eagles, and she’s expected to make big waves for the Perth side this year. Speaking to The 42, Co-Founder of the CrossCoders organisation Jason Hill says of McCarthy, “One of the biggest problems the West Coast Eagles had last year was getting their hands on the ball out in midfield and getting it into their forward line… I would definitely expect West Coast to be better this year. I think Aish Mc makes a big difference to their midfield, adds a final piece they were looking for around the ball.”
Aisling has been a part of the Gym+Coffee community almost since day one and we are delighted to have her join the Make Life RIcher Family in our very first Ambassador role.
